To effectively reach the Hispanic broadcast media, you must:

  • Know the media
  • What kind of stories they cover, how it is covered and how can you help Know the audience
  • Who is watching/listening?
  • Be prepared to provide information in Spanish and English
  • Make sure that you are using proper Spanish. Keep in mind that many English campaign themes or slogan may not have the same meaning in Spanish.
  • Keep in mind that it takes longer to say things in Spanish than it does in English.
  • To adapt a VNR or ANR English-language script for Hispanic media you will need to substantially edit and cut down the length of the scripts.
  • Media specialists/media pitchers should be bi-lingual
